Cycling is not a metaphor for this nonprofit. It is the literal mechanism behind both Vince's recovery and the funds on the donation page.
When Vince came out of an eight-hour craniotomy at Stanford, his medical team told him that cardiovascular exercise could help the surgically created bypass vessels grow and strengthen over time. He took that prescription seriously. In the eight months that followed, he rode 10,000+ miles. Follow-up imaging showed his bypass vessels had quadrupled in size. Cycling, in his case, was medicine.
That same bike is now the fundraising engine for Miles for Moyamoya. Every endurance race becomes a platform. Every long ride becomes a story other patients can hold onto. Every mile is paired with a campaign that channels supporter donations toward research, awareness, and patient resources.
We ride alongside Ventum Racing, the brand sponsoring Vince's race programme, and through Enjoy Cycling Club, the Sacramento-based community Vince founded to bring inclusivity into the sport. These are not paid endorsements. They are the actual community that surrounds the work.
You do not need to be a competitive athlete to make a difference. There are three ways to ride with us, all of them real and ongoing.
Enjoy Cycling Club hosts regular group rides out of Sacramento, California. All ability levels welcome. Dates and meet-points are announced on Instagram. The rides are open, social, and built around the same inclusivity Vince founded the club on.
Each year Vince enters a calendar of gravel and endurance races, including Unbound XL (350 miles in Emporia, Kansas), the Sea Otter Classic in Monterey, Grinduro, and the Sacramento Cyclocross Series. Every event is paired with a fundraising campaign. Sponsor a mile, sponsor a race, or come ride part of the course with him.
Organise a fundraiser in your community. We will help you plan, promote, and connect your event to the wider moyamoya awareness campaign. Any format, anywhere in the world. Get in touch and we will point you to the next one.
May 2026, Moyamoya Awareness Day, a global social media campaign. Summer 2026, Sacramento community fundraising ride open to all ability levels. Autumn 2026, Vince returns to Unbound XL for another 350-mile attempt. Follow Instagram for dates and registration.
